That's Rita.... Right now it's a tropical storm... It will become a category 1 hurricane tonight and make it's way through the gulf over to the Houston area.... By the time it gets there, it will likely be AT LEAST a category 3, and possibly stronger....
It should hit the Houston/Louisiana area next weekend....
Man its crazy...There is one behind it, Phillipe, that is already a hurricane according to the news today. But fortunately, it looks to be heading more N up the Atlantic, so that's a good thing.
Wow, very active tropical season this year...records are unfortunately made to be broken I guess. It is a shame how they seem to hit the same areas all the time.
There are still 2 months of active hurricane season left as well. This would be really bad, but I have a feeling we might get through all the names of the storms this year and have to resort to Greek letter naming. That's what they do when the names are gone.
