Fire Sales starting today.

Its amazing how many previously highly rated players are now being dropped outright in my league. Players that I tried to buy low on week one or before week two, I can now pick up off the WW.

Leading candidates:
Hines Ward (after week one, grabbed him as an SA since no one
wanted him)
Trent Green and Hasselbeck (other players had better priority)
I know one player is planning on dropping CPep outright.

I suspect this is only the beginning, so I am going to be watching the WW really closely, as I suspect more goodies will show up as well.

Any good ideas which under-performers that might actually be dropped based purely on games 1 and 2 performance that would be a good bet to pick up and hold onto?

I have not, and do not expect to see any of those guys on my waiver wire unless they are injured for the rest of the season. Are you in a small league with little bench space, or do you just have a few players who can be taken advantage of?

Arrington is a good call. I have been fighting the urge to waive him myself.

I'm hanging onto him until someone better comes along. I have a hugely deep RB bench so it wouldnt be a loss. I'm just dissapointed he hasn't done much yet.

He's played in one game.... Sometimes these things take time.... He may end up being a bust, but I would personally love to stash him away on my bench.... The upside there is enormous....

Tatum Bell, Lee Evans and, most inadvisably of all, Andre Johnson have all been dropped in a Yahoo public league I'm in. I join two or three of those public leagues, basically, as a way to practice drafting before the drafts for the league about which I really care -- the league I've been doing for four years. It's very easy to see which guys can be taken advantage of in most public leagues -- but if I don't, someone else will. I'm not targetting them with trades, just picking their scraps off the wire. But even I will pass on Bell.

Well, Andre Johnson just hit the WW. Sounds like a good pickup for a backup IDP. :)
