He played the last half of the 2003 season with a fractured leg....

The Bills showed their appreciation by replacing him....

2003 he played through a fractured leg all year. Wasn't a major fracture, but he was running the ball 20-30 times a week, taking hits 16 out of 17 weeks on a fractured leg all the same.

I don't believe it was quite 16 of 17 weeks... To my recollection it was more like 6-8 weeks....

Wasn't it Ronnie Lott who had half his finger amputated so as not to miss any playing time when he broke it?

If you think back to his Bears days, Harbaugh was a pretty tough dude too. Either that or real stupid. He got creamed on every single play like the lineman had found out he slept with their wives and he kept getting back up. It was really hard to watch. A new nominee has arisen, coincidentally from the Bears as well ( a one time deal). Muhammed took a mean shot on his TD catch last week (by Dre Bly, I think?) and got shoved into another defender (Bryant maybe?) , who is now likely out for the year! That's tough!

True, it wasn't quite all year, but I know he was injured earlier than week 8 (had him on my fantasy team unfortunately that year). Might've been separate injuries that I'm thinking of though.
