Despite a broken rib, TE Jeremy Shockey appears ready for the New York Giants season opener against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. The Giants' second-year tight end practiced on Wednesday and didn't seem bothered by the rib injury that forced him to miss the final two preseason games.

Coach Dick Vermeil said he expects cornerback Eric Warfield, who dinged a knee in the preseason finale in St. Louis, and tight end Tony Gonzalez, who twisted a knee in practice last week, to be available for San Diego. Both are expected to work in today's practice.
