What is up with Peyton?

Indy was leading most of the time last year, and they were still chucking it up and down the field. It ain't like the Colts were losing every game and had to come back. They are obviously content to win 10-6 or 13-3, so why force the issue if it isn't there.

I guess all the idiots that argued he should be the first player taken in a draft are seriously wishing they hadn't.

Well, guess not.

I draft him 6th overall last year in an autodraft where my ranking is 1)Holmes 2)LT 3)Manning ;-7

This year with all the attention he'll be getting, I opt for McNabb

just remember one thing..................its still week 3

And the colts have played the browns, ravens and jags so the people saying the defense is great should wait till Indy plays someone with an offense.

Now, nothing's ever that simple, but if you think about it, when you're up by a TD, and the clock is an issue, I think it's a factor. I think that the team IMPROVING is causing them to score less (and probably win more.) Bad Fantasy, good Football.

fatfoot, i've been too lazy to type it, but you've said concisely and precisely what i've been thinking about indy.

Ditto.

I keep reading about how all the defenses are gearing to stop Manning, dropping eight guys and the like, and think that Edge is in for a monster season. Plus, like fatfoot said, the Colts don't have to be up by 21 points to win the game anymore. No incentive for all those garbage time TDs that Manning had last year. We might see some Sorgi this year instead of Manning still trying to hit 50 TDs late in games.

On Friday night, I told a friend that Edge would be top 3 and that I would probably trade Priest, with his shoulder, knee and LJ issues, for him at this point.

To an extent this is true, but that's when you've put the game out of reach. The game was never out of reach for Cleveland. The Colts never put the game away.

Furthermore, I believe that any QB who can't muster at least 1 TD against the Browns needs to go home and cry, cry like a little girl. ;-)

I'd like to see what happens when they get up against a monster team. I think we all would.

I thought that when the Colts hired Dungy they would play like they are. But that was years ago. There really isn't a good reason for them to want to play differently.

The old axiom about run offense helping your D only held true if your passing game wasn't that good. The Colts stayed on the field with the passing game. All I can think is that maybe they're feeling like they need to learn to play this way to win in the playoffs.

Dark times in Tea-bag city, for the fantasy firestorm has been but a flicker.

If you trade him now, you will regret it in week 6 when he starts getting 2/3 td's a game, easily. He's not playing badly right now, he just needs to open up the O a little bit more. If this happens against Tenn. next week I might start to worry a little, though.. :-o
