IDP Top Ten

Postby sundawg_58 » Thu Sep 04, 2003 7:10 pm

I'm a little lost when it comes to IDP's. But after some research, I came up with a top ten. Tell me if i'm anywhere near what they should be (not in any particular order):

Ray Lewis
Zach Thomas
Keith Brookings
Urlacher
Brooks
Mike Peterson
Donnie Edwards
Jamie Sharper
London Fletcher
La Var Arrington

I know everyone is a LB on the list, but they usually pile up the most points (i think). If a Lineman or DB is worthy, cast a vote.
What do you think? Who should be on or off of this list?

I'd maybe drop your bottom three and add:

Jason Taylor, MIA
Mike Rucker, CAR
Mike Maslowski, KC (love this pick)
-- and if you're not afraid of a DB ...
Adam Archuleta, STL

If you want to go a little deeper:
Eric Barton, OAK
Jason Gildon, PIT
Keith Bulluck, TEN
Leonard Little, STL
Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila, GB
Simeon Rice, TB

(there's a couple of DEs there if you're after sacks based on matchups)

Of the guys you had on the list - Urlacher is safest, Lewis has best potential, and Edwards has the most to gain (Seau & Harrison are done stealing his tackles!)

Good luck.
... in my opinion, of course - but that should always go without saying.

Roy Williams is by far the best player available at DB IMO. He's Archuleta plus a few TD's.

Arch is still a stud. Probably the 2 best at the position by quite a bit.

Roy Williams is a STUD IDP. He is in a class of his own w/ Archuletta behind him. I would take Williams over most of those linebackers except for Urlacher and maybe Ray Lewis. Reason: because there are a lot of good linebackers and you can still end up w/ a good LB. I did this taking Roy Williams #3 overall and still ended up w/ Jamie Sharper as my LB.

DBs:

Roy Williams
Archuleta...

Mike Green

Also - dont forget about Rodney Harrison - he is a fantasy stud when healthy and not suspended. Damn near 70 tackles last yr even though he missed time through injury and suspension.

Also - Takeo Spikes deserves a mention as DL.

Also Adrian Wilson could be a very good DB this year. TKO Spikes is a LB, not DL

depends on your league, but don't forget about the dual-purpose players. any db that also does KR and PR gives you bonus points, particular for touchdowns ;-D

-----------------------------------------------
qb - favre (maddox)
rb - portis, james (dunn)
wr - moulds, k.johnson, rogers (streets)
te - gonzo (ricks)
k - akers
d - o'neal, r.barber, t.spikes (freeney)

Right, but Yahoo doesnt seem to care whether a person is a DL or LB, so for this purpose, hes a DL.

Also, don't be looking for Arrington if you are keeping track of you league on the internet. You won't find him since he's not in the player's union. No football cards, video games, or fantasy football for LaVar.
