Bruce: Injured; Curtis: Will Be Big

from rotoworld.com:

Latest News Sep. 25, 2005 - 4:09 pm et

Isaac Bruce suffered a hyperextended left toe during today's game.
Bruce had one catch before he left and did not return. Bruce will undergo tests tonight, but this usually keeps a player out for a few weeks. Kevin Curtis will step into the starting role and makes a great fantasy option if Bruce is out.

this is big, big news. curtis has the talent, and has not had the opportunity. with bruce down, he will step up.

cbssportsline reports something different...not quite as supportive of curtis' opening:

Isaac Bruce, WR STL

News: Rams WR Isaac Bruce had one catch for 11 yards vs. Tennessee in Week 3. He left the game in the second half with turf toe.

Analysis: He should return to play at the N.Y. Giants in Week 4.

I think Bruce might comeback but I dont think he is going to be effective. I think its painful as can be when they try and push off and make a cut. I see Kevin getting his chance and showing what his burners can actually do. Plus the little guy can take a hit.

I would wait a few days and see the extent of Bruce's injury before picking up Curtis, Holt will see more action if bruce is down, look what happened against the Titans, for anyone who is in a PPR league like me Holt brought home the big bacon

Disagree, don't wait and see on Curtis. Pick him up immediately if he is available. This guy is a star waiting to happen in St. Louis, and even at the rumor of an Isaac Bruce hangnail injury, you want Curtis on your roster. 1200/10 potential in that offense.

Any thoughts on Shaun Mcdonald?

Does the #3 WR in STL have much value in leagues?

i like shaun mcdonald quite a bit. if he's on the field, he has an excellent opportunity. depending on bruce's injury, he just may have that opportunity.

Mcdonald is equivalant to Antoinio Bryant one has a great offense as a 3rd wideout and the other is a starter on a bad offense. One week you may get 60 yards and a TD and the next week you may get 1 reception for 8 yards. I try and stay away from any rec on the 3rd spot of the roster, to inconsistent. Engram is a great 3rd spot receiver though...Mr Consistent. If youhave a spot to fill I would search the WW instead of gambling on McDonald if Bruce is really that bad.
