Oh and I'll definitely be spending alot of time this year following your results because my defenses, Buffalo and Giants, aren't performing so I need to find some help.
Plindsey88 wrote:OK, so I know everyone is accustomed to seeing my best defenses thread published weekly right here in the leftovers forum, but the cafe management and I have decided to change things up a bit, because of the growing popularity of my weekly thread. Instead of publishing my formula results right here in the leftovers forum every week, I've decided to write a weekly column for the "Point of View" section of the cafe.... In there I will highlight the key matchups that I believe people can take advantage of, and give a brief synopsis of why I think each matchup is desirable... In addition, I will rank the top 9-12 matchups weekly, giving each matchup a ranking from 2-5 stars.... These articles will be based on formula results, but will also be colored by a little bit of personal insight....
Also, after the article is published every week, I will post the actual formula results in the "Draft, Trade, and Wavier Wire" forum so that people can get an idea of where the teams that are not discussed in the article fall in the grand scheme of things... In that thread I will be answering whatever questions people have regarding defensive matchups for their particular league, and discussing any matchups that I did not address in the article....
ADDITIONALLY - I have added a strength of schedule calculation to my formula, which should help to correct some of the problems encountered early in the year when defenses face particularly difficult or easy matchups which skew the results of my calculations.... I have also added a modifier which takes into account which teams are playing at home, and which teams have to play in hostile territory.... The new results look pretty damn good, and I look forward to sharing them with you.... So, keep an eye out for the article, and remember to check the other forum for the weekly discussion thread....
I think this is an excellent idea and am glad that you're finally getting a feature for your hard work.
As an avid reader and user of your defensive stats, might I suggest that you post the formula results before the article posts... and then make us and the casual cafe article readers wait for the analysis?
I don't know about others, but the sooner I see the formula results, the sooner I can act on what is already an extremely crazy waiver wire in my league.
Again, as always, keep up the great work.

I've got CIN and WAS D/ST, would you drop one if you had to, or keep them both.
I need to keep McMichael on a BYE week...
Here's the post I made on the other forum:
