Anyone else have this problem?

Postby Where's Ryan Leaf? » Tue Sep 27, 2005 3:43 pm

I live on the West Coast and all the other players in my league live on the East Coast. This means when I log into my computer at say 9am Monday morning to get player news, check the WW, etc., it's already 12 where everybody else lives and the vultures have already picked the wire clean.

I hate FCFS ruleset for waiver pickups.

Owners shouldn't be rewarded available players simply because they live in front of the internet.

Next time talk with your commissioner about getting it changed to freezing the player pool for 24 hours after the monday night game for owners to go out and make claims. Use the waiver wire order come wednesday morning. voila.

i dont like the waiver priority system. I think active owners should be awarded.

Our commish set the waiver rules in our league...whoever is in last place gets the first pick and the time limit is 2 hours. It works well, but some of the jerks in my league use up the whole 2 hours, knowing they're not picking anyone up. In a 12-team league, we don't finish going through all 12 teams unitl late Thursday or early Friday!

yea, you should be rewarded -- but others shouldn't be penalized because they can't spend 12 hours every sunday watching nothing but football and waiting to scoop up the newly promoted players. i like the claim idea for monday.

or just doa blind bid every week for each player.
The opening scene of the movie "Saving Private Ryan" is loosely based on games of dodgeball Brian Dawkins played in second grade.

That's a good idea. It was nice, though, when round 8 of the draft came around and it was 10pm here, but 1am there. Oh well, lesson learned.

FCFS sucks in my opinon as well. i love the blind bid system although it is a little more complicated, but it is by far the most strategic.

We do a mix - Tuesday is Priority to low team in the standings, Wednesday is frozen, and starting at 9am Thursday it's FCFS...

Works well for us...
