Priest Holmes and L Johnson: Split or keep together?

Postby ike301 » Fri Sep 30, 2005 11:50 am

So I drafted PH and was able to get lucky and swipe LJ off the waivers.

The question lies, is having both more valuable or should I split them up? I actually got a few good offers for LJ, straight up.

Does it make sense to keep/deal PH/LJ together or separate?

i.e.

Keep Priest, deal LJ for another 2nd tier back, therefore padding my backs.

or

Keep both, LJ for backup, taking up space. COULD be big if PH goes down. He's got speed and nice moves.

or

Deal both away together as a package, since honestly, they split too much, almost 70/30.

I think in blowouts, they'll just give it to LJ for reps and experience, since LJ currently is the future back.

Gosh, who would of known picking up Priest would be so much work.

Well he's a high risk, high reward fantasy player.

Basically I don't think you should split them so either kkep both incase of injuries or trade them both away. Good luck with your decison!

well, what i REALLY want to do, is to trade them together for a solid one back and a maybe a good WR.

I would trade one. If their both healthy, neither is going to have top-notch value. I mean if you play them both in the same week and the team gets shut down, you get no production from your RB's.

Personally, I don't like the handcuff of two RB's from the same team. Roster sizes tend to be limited as it is, and that extra roster space being taken up isn't worth it for me. The bye week can be a killer, especially if you have other injuries to deal with.

I would be willing to make any type of deal, trading either one or both if you get good value in return.

i dont think you could get much for them right now.... I would wait tell one or both of them has a great game and then trade them. Everyone saw what they did on Monday night. You wont get true market value for them.

The KC RB position is still one of the top in the NFL. Granted, they've got off to a slow start, but I don't expect that to be for long. I don't think I would be peddling either player right now. Unless you could get a bonafide stud for LJ, which I doubt would happen, you are going to want the handcuff for Priest. Truth be told, the situation would be brightest if something did happen to Priest and LJ had the starting nod because outside of that, you are going to continue to see a similar touch distribution like what is currently happening.

just rethinking this. i'd want to have the back ups to other RBs? or backups to my own? 1) ur wasting a spot. 2) you should capitalize on someone's loss.

i mean i have ph and lj. lj wont get the call until ph stinks it up. that means i'm bearing the risk. what if i trade lj to someone and then get the back up of a RB on the wire? i mean, i;ve actually have been getting decent proposals for lj. ....
