I had a kid on my team named Zach who tried hard every game but was learning disabled (couldn't tell the difference between offense/defense). The last game of the season, we were down 10 - 0 so I called a timeout and drew up a play knowing the other team figured out about Zach's abilities but left him alone at the side of the key. I told my point guard to get the ball to Zach (who was a good shooter). When he passed Zach the ball, I was screaming "SHOOT" from the sidelines and I watched Zach score our first two points. He ran down the court waving his arms in the air and jumping up and down. I watched his parents and grandparents leap up off their seats and cheer for him. I sat down, with tears in my eyes, knowing this what is was all about.

Cafe pet peeve: I guess just that some people take themselves and other things way too seriously sometimes, and arguments that end (or start with) personal attacks. Just because someone's opinion differs from your own doesn't make them wrong, and there is never an excuse to start name-calling.
