Why no talk about Cason today?

What about Cason? Hambrick looked horrible and Cason did well both running and catching the ball.

Will he overtake Hambrick?

I dunno what the deal is there. Only 2 runs and 2 catches, but boy oh boy. He's certainly faster than Hambrick, so Tuna could use him as a change-of-pace guy I guess. Parcells likes "creating" backs no one's heard of, like Holmgren does with QBs, and I think he thought Hambrick was going to fill that role, but Cason certainly looked good, and is kind of the Joe Morris type runner Parcells seems to favor. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he starts getting the bulk of the carries in the next few weeks.

Cason had moments in Detroit last year but was not retained. Has great speed but had a tendency to dance around too much, thus never getting started. Hopefully he has learned.

michael wiley had plenty of long runs last year so this isn't a big deal, our third down back always have high ypc averages but he sure did look good running and shifting
