"The LJ Experiment" coming to an end in KC?

Postby Free Bagel » Mon Oct 03, 2005 11:12 pm

From KFFL:

Chiefs | Team Considering Change on Offense
Mon, 3 Oct 2005 20:31:29 -0700

Adam Teicher, of the Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Al Saunders may end his current philosophy of using RB Priest Holmes for two series and RB Larry Johnson for one series. Saunders said, "We'll be discussing that. When you're caught up in the week-to-week preparation, sometimes you do things a little bit differently than you'd do if you're able to sit back and look at everything in depth. We're able to do that this week."

Well, it's about time.

LJ has fumbled in consecutive games, and Priest looked very good yesterday.

i still don't think its a bad idea to run LJ to spell priest for a series or so but priest needs to be in there inside the 20 at all times and for a large majority of the series' over all.

I sure hope so because I just traded for him on Saturday. I gave Duece and Burleson for Priest and C. Bensen.

I was just talking to a Chief's fan about this very topic. The offense is out of sorts this season, the timing looks off. I think it is in large part to Priest not being able to get continuity in the offense. I hope they make this move not just from a fantasy standpoint but also to help their team as a whole in real terms. It's a talented group but they are currently spinning their wheels.

Fumbling isn't tolerated when you have Priest. I could see LJ's redzone chances being reduced substantially. It will suck for LJ becuase with Roaf due back he'll have those gaping holes to burst through.
