Will Miami D rebound?

Postby jeru » Mon Sep 08, 2003 1:15 pm

Last week, I traded Charles Rogers for the Dolphins D, thinking that the Dolphins D is an upper tier, top 5 D and Rogers will probably struggle at least at first. That blew up in my face big time, because Rogers scored 2 TDs (although he would have been on my bench anyway), the Miami D laid a gooseegg and the guy that traded me Miami's D picked up the Broncos D and they exploded for 24 points. Grr!

Anyway, is there a reason to be concerned about whether this defence is going to be a gigantic bust? I was expecting a huge game against the Texans, and at least a few sacks. If they are this atrocious against the Texans is there a reason to expect them to do better or was it just an off day for them?

Could've beeen a little overconfidence in the lockerroom maybe...I think they will be fine.Give them a few weeks, they certainly got their eyes opened and should play with a little more determination in the weeks to come.

That's why you don't waste a high draft pick on a defense. They fluctuate too much. If I was you, I'd be patient. I had Pittsburgh last year and dropped them. I then played against them in the championship game in week 16 and they put up 23 points. I lost by 2.

The whole of week #1 was a bust across-the-board for a LOT of players/Ds.
Hopefully, this is this year's dose of weirdness, all in one week.
Don't bail or even be concerned about Miami's D based on this Twilight Zone of a kick-off.
My 2 cents, anyway.

Amen to that brother !

As GP said, "over confidence going into the game", they expected an easy win.

i dont think that the miami d recovers at all, this loss will send them reeling and i think they will plummet to one of the bottom 5 defences in the league, and you start all your players gleefully vs. them by week 8

oh by the way, im kidding
