How will Chris Simms do in TB?

Postby deadlyshaolin » Mon Oct 17, 2005 10:03 am

Now that Griese is out for the year with a torn ACL (see Rotoworld and the Buc's team site message boards), how do y'all think Chris Simms will do in his place?

Some people say he throws a better long ball...

He's got some good receivers in Clayton and Galloway...maybe Clayton will finally start seeing some more passes thrown his way.
Doesn't it suck to get beat at Fantasy Football...by a girl?

Well - he has a week to prepare, then a completely depleated SF secondary will make for a nice warm up game for Simms. After that though it goes downhill very very quickly for him in terms of matchups:

My prediction: a lot of running plays.

They probably won't throw a lot with him in there...I'd expect an average of 170/1/1 a game.

So, in other words, the same numbers as Griese?

I'd have to think things will be pretty much the same. I don't expect improvement, and the only change I think is really plausible would be clayton taking a bigger role.... and thus galloway's role diminishing. Run game should be similar I think.
ADMIN edit: please note that the overall sig limit is 12k - thanks!

3 games (only two games fully though) vs SEA @NO @ARI
the NO game he only threw 8 balls so that's pretty much a throw away game.

467 yards 1 td 3 int's 42 of 73 57.5 percent comp.

i watched the games he played in last year and he was unimpressive. i believe he is definitely a downgrade from griese. as mentioned, it will most likely lower galloway's stock and increase claytons. the bucs will most likely stick with the running game and throw only as needed. this might be a serious problem for their post-season run.
