Take it away? What was there a hold on the play? Nope dont think so. How can you just erase the play? If you erase all those TD's the Colts scored the Rams would have won. Amazing!
I didn't say take away ALL THE PLAYS that were good. I said 1 play. When you go by stats 1 play can skew them quite a bit. A Backup RB could catch a screen pass and run 90 yrds for a TD then catch 10 more for 1 yrd. 100 yrds and a td looks good, but nobody would consider him unstoppable. Amazing! Remember: When your head is in the oven and your feet are in the freezer on average your doing pretty good.
Yes then you have what actually happened not how dominant a team or area of a team is. The raiders beat dallas, that IS WHAT HAPPENED. So that means that the Raiders are a better team than Dallas. You would take a bet that if one of those teams made the playoffs it would be the raiders.

Colts D sucks? You are smoking something. They have talented defensive players like Freeney, June, Mathis. Sure they haven't played any other high powered offenses other than the Rams but they still beat them and right now Mathis is leading the NFL in sacks, and Cato June is leading the NFL in interceptions.
Colts are still undefeated. 6-0
So before you start bashing the colts, try looking at your own teams and see how they are doing. As for me I have the Colts D in 6 out of 7 fantasy leagues that I am in. 3 of which are money leagues. Colts D has been getting points for me...no complaints here!
Indy D played a lot better than just looking at the score would indicate. Plus, they weren't giving up points all game, just in the first quarter, and the offense wasn't very good in the first quarter either.

And you clearly no nothing about outliers and are yourself skewing the stats by taking away the single best play Bulger had. At the very least, if you take away his best play (which itself there is no precedent for doing to determine a football player's performance) you must take away his worst play, the INT. Even 100+ yards 0 TDs, 0 INTs is fine first 15 minutes, and easily on pace for a good day on the field.
To use your own phrase, we're saying Bulger was hot, and you want us to take his head out of the oven and then tell us he was actually cold. You claim that one play skewed the facts, but you're twisting them even more by ignoring the best, but keeping the worst. Any QB's stat line looks worse when you take away their best play. Did you really think you could fool people with such faulty stats?
Now please, spare us your useless skewing of the facts, and stop wasting space on this thread.
Manja,Yeah it was. Now can we go back to finger painting?
Anyways:
You posted a lot about exactly what I was saying. Take away 1 play and you can make the case for either way. So in other words there is no real basis for judging a team on a quarter and a half of play.
Whatever the reason, Indiys D is a good fantasy play. You can make excuse for why, but when all is said that still is the fact.
And I won't even get into name calling with you. It just isn't worth it.

you cant take away one play...simple as that, and that argument is pointless and overused.
the rams were destroying the colts while bulger was in there. yes he threw an INT, but if you look at his season, or even career stats, you will see he throws INTs to EVERYONE. it doesnt take a defensive powerhouse to pick off bulger. im pretty sure if bulger had remained in this game it would have been a high scoring shootout and the indy D would have been exposed for what it truly is....good at best but not great.
guess we will have to wait til week 9 against the pats or better yet week 11 against the bengals to see. they have a super soft schedule right now though.
I find it hard to believe that this Indy D has suddenly transformed itself into the Ravens D of 2000 (I believe that was the yr they went to the Superbowl) in a yrs time. Yes, Freeney is incredible. However, they were lucky to get Simon when they did and they still have yet to face a top offense. When you face the second tier QB in the second half, honestly what do u expect from the Rams offense? Look at what happened in Pitt: Ben gone, the offense is terrible. When the Indy D shuts down the likes of the Patriots, Pitt, Eagles or even Carson Palmer and the Bengals, then I will consider them a top D. Right now, the weakness of the schedule is a huge benefit and the fact that they have only truly faced a great offense for about a quarter and a half.
The Rams offense is all about passing. Everybody knows that. When you take out a top QB from a top passing offense, it is no longer a top passing offense. If the backup QB is Jaime Martin, it becomes the Houston offense.
It's time to put down the crack-pipe and step away from the keyboard.
