Saints moving to S.A.

As a Los Angeles resident and a huge football fan, I can honestly say, "Keep L.A. free of NFL teams!"

They've tried it before, it'll crap out again. Plus, a team in L.A. ruins my chances to watch my (pathetic) 'niners on TV every week. Just my 2 cents.

Since when are the Saints to SA a done deal? Do you have a link? Everyone knows Benson wants to move the team there, but it'll be a cold day in hell before the NFL lets it happen. They'll move a team to Mexico City before little old San Antonio gets one.

I dont think its a done deal, but the Saints and the city of S.A. are trying to make it happen:

The name "Saints" doesn't make any sense anywhere but New Orleans.

Yeah, and the Utah Jazz makes sense?

Except in this case it makes as perfect sense as the Los Angeles Angles:
San Antonio = Saint Anthony (in spanish), patron of travelers, the poor, and those who have lost or misplaced anything.

Uh, haven't you guys already had two teams...and they both left?

You guys?!? Whoa, whoa, whoa... I'm a Viking. Let's not beat a dead horse here. LA should be the next city to get a team and that's all there is to it.

Hey, you never know, they could end up with the Vikings......

I dunno, when your entire city is destroyed by a natural disaster, including your stadium, it kind of leaves the NFL without many valid objections....

Especially when you see the reaction that the people of San Antonio are having to the Saints...

It looks like it is making more and more sense....

LA is out of the running until they build proper facilities.... No NFL franchise is going to sign on to play in the Colliseum or the Rose Bowl....

Personally, I think it's lousy to give Texas OR California another team....

I say they move the Saints to Birmingham.... It's not too far from where they currently are, and Alabama could use a team.... ;-D

The Saints averaged around 64k attendance last year. There's really only one halfway suitable stadium in the state and that would leave about 25k empty seats for every home game.

Will update more later.

They could still call them the New Orleans Saints and keep them in San Antonio only until New Orleans gets cleaned up and back on its feet (however many years that takes).

Sort of like how the Jets and Giants are called the New York Jets/Giants and will play in New Jersey for the next 99 years.
