Which mediocre running back to start

I am weak at rb...will be starting stephen davis at one back. My choices for the second back are Clinton Portis (rb by committee against a tough SD defense) or Thomas Jones (mediocre, bad ankle against tough Carolina run defense).

They need 75 all purpose yards before they start scoring.

Who do I start?

If Thomas Jones starts (which he should), go with him. He has the best chance of getting 80-90% of the carries at RB. With Denver's RBs, you never know who is going to get the carries.

have to start Jones. At least he will have enough touches to have a chance at yardage. Denver backs you just never know which one will get more carries/yards.

agreed with both these guys, but also consider that jones is a little banged up. not bad, but still nicked up nevertheless.

Sorry, I disagree. It doesn't matter how many times you "touch" the ball if you don't carry it anywhere (like into the end zone). We've been seeing more production out of Portis the last couple of weeks, and it will likely continue. Jones is nursing an injury. I believe he will be a good fantasy scorer when he gets healthy (if he gets a chance to get healthy while playing).

For Mr. Jones: "Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either."

Clinton Portis no question about it. Mike anderson is hurt and the bronocos are starting to love clinton. Jones is hurt, and isn't sure whether or not he is playing sunday

He should get plenty of carries with backup Marcel Shipp likely out with an injury."
