Head-to-Head vs. Rotisserie

Postby jayday » Wed Oct 19, 2005 6:13 pm

i've always played H2H leagues....but over the past few weeks, i've heard a lot of people saying they scored 2nd most in the league, only to lose to the high score of the league.....its happened to me once this year....

it seems that you are at the mercy of the schedule as well....week 2, i ran into an owner who had mcnabb, to, and lj smith who combined for like 100 points...then the next week, he didnt score 100 with his whole team....

overall, i still prefer H2H leagues, because there is more of a concentrated effort to beat 1 opponent once a week....whereas baseball rotisserie has a bland flavor in my opinion....

what are you guys thoughts?

offer 2 prizes: the champion is the h2h winner and gets half the pot. the points leader gets the other half.

if the champion is the same as the points leader, well hey, more dolares for that guy.

I like head to head for football. It simulates the game better. Injuries, matchups and depth charts come into play each and every week. Where roto is just stat accumulation plug in your players and watch them grow, kind of boring for 16 games.

I definitely like head to head. That's the way games are played in real life. Plus, it keeps personaly competition high, and provides waaaay more opportunity to talks smack. ;-D

I say Roto is the best way to see who put together the best team but H2H is more fun...provided you know the other owners.

There is only one way to play fantasy football - H2H ;-D

Real football games are also determined by schedule makers. An NFL team can start to gel later in the season so it would have been better to play them early in the season. Total points is just plain boring and there would be no fun in even playing, once you have a bad week, it would take forever to get back into contention. With only 1 loss you are still in the hunt for playoffs.
