huge trade for McNabb?

Postby Guest » Thu Oct 03, 2002 3:45 pm

I was just offered a trade...I will be giving up....
Donovan Mcnabb
Lamar Smith
Chris Chambers

For

Brett Farve.
Terell Owens
Charlie Garner
What Do You Think...I don't know how farve will perform with not having that many reliable receivers??????

NO, don't do it. Mcnabb is the better QB to have, and he will give you xtra points for rushing yards/TD's. Lamar Smith / Garner is pretty even. Chambers for Owens would be an upgrade for you. Your not gaining enough to give up Mcnabb.

The way Lamar Smith has been playing, I'd be happy to keep him. I'd think about dishing off Chambers, but not this deal...

for what i see right now, i would say do it. you give up the top fantasy scoring qb, but farve is no slouch either. you upgrade at rb and wr. ;-D it would also help to see the rest of your roster as well, to be sure.

I would not take the trade. There is no doubt that Farve will preform well(hes got Franks and Driver) but I do not think he will ever outpreform Mcnabb(as far as earning fantasy points anyway). Plus Garner and Owens have done nothing this year.

well, i guess the score is 2-2 if you read all of the above. So i guess i have to be the tiebreaker. Im going with jay and guttpuppy on this one. Because its improving your lineup tremendously. do it.

I would DEFINITELY make that trade if I were you:

(1) With every game that goes by, Favre and his WR's will be more on the same page... they may not be perfectly healthy right now; but, that should change after this wk.

(2) Lamar Smith may be doing well now; but, Deshaun Foster will be coming back shortly... Foster is MUCH more of a gamebreaker than LSmith and will take a lot of time away from him... and Smith's recent performances were flukes. Get rid of Lamar while his value is relatively high.

(3) Owen versus Chambers isn't a comparison... it's a joke. Owens will explode soon enough (this wknd good enough for you?).

Bottom line: Favre is a little less valuable than McNabb; but, Owens/Garner is a LOT more valuable than Chambers/Garner.

If only TO had done more, it would be easy to say take it. The way this year is going, I would stick with McNabb.
