Actually, I made a mistake with the question, but considering how it looks I'll say the answer is Don Hutson. I meant to pose the question in the context of the NFL since they combined with the AFL, so I should have said 'modern era', wherein the answer would be Sharpe, actually, but whoever says Hutson the quickest I'm gonna give the win to.
