Cortez was cut today, the Cowboys signed rookie Shaun Suisham, a rookie from Bowling Green, to take over his duties.

Jose needed to be cut, he was clearly the reason why Parcells had to take that swing at his other coach...

Seriously, though, I don´t think he was doing that bad. Any other opinions?

I heard Parcells fired him in the locker room after the game.

Cortez tried to blame his holder for the missed field goal yesterday. It WAS a prro snap, but the kock holder did remarkably well to get it down in time. Then Cortez just botched it. That miss, and the fact that he pointed the blame elsewhere, may have been cause for his dismissal.

The cowboys needed a scape goat for that game and Cortez fit the bill. They never should have lost that one...

I'm sure Drew's errant pass into DOUBLE coverage with 14 seconds left had nothing to do with them losing the game. When in doubt can the kicker......

Cortez has been horrible. I don't care if you have one leg.. You should able to make a 29 yard field goal...

David Akers did.

I'm surprised they even had Cortez in the first place. Last time I remember him kicking he missed like 2 extra points in a row for the 49ers. I figured when he disappeared they had deported him.
