J. Porter << D. Gabriel??

I've been looking at the Porter/Gabriel situation lately.

Is Porter one of those guys that is just going to be an average #2 guy that never breaks out or will he pick up the pace?

Does Gabriel only play in 3 WR sets? Are there any rumblings of him replacing Porter as the #2 wr?

He seems to be outproducing Porter lately but I haven't seen any Raider games this year.

What is the general feeling between the values of Porter vs Gabriel long term?

Will Porter be the #2 guy all year no doubt about it?

Since I haven't seen them play it's hard for me to get a feel for the situation.

gabriel has more value than porter IMO. Don't know if he'll replace him as a #2, but porter hasn't done anything, and he's not going to break out. He's had plenty of time to do so.

With a healthy Moss, the value of both Porter and Gabriel will either increase or decrease over what it is with Moss slightly hobbled.

I was just going to post on this topic. Anyway, I just dropped Porter in my league for Engram. Yeah, I know Engram is on a bye and coming off injury. But Engram's upside and easy playoff schedule make him more valuable than a guy who is actually playing on Sunday. And healthy!

But what happened to this guy? A couple of years ago he looked poised for a bright future in the NFL? Now he's an afterthought on a bad football team. I wasted a 7th round pick on this guy. I really beleived the additiion of Moss would open things up for him.

Porter is def a frustration of mine...(I have to start him this week)..

He was on fire last year with Collins...I knew he would drop off a bit...but sheesh...

The interesting thing is that he is getting looked at...and he gets either 40 or 60 yards every start...

I think its just a matter of routes he is told to run...he may be doing what he is told....I was thinking maybe he would catch fire for my playoffs...but I am not holding my breath...

How can you drop Porter heading into TEN, KC, DEN stretch??

As a CFP®, I'm a big believer in reversion to the mean. JP's been on my bench most the year, but he'll be in the lineup next couple weeks, also factored in is the fact that Collins has one TD in his last 3 games, and is coming off a solid performance vs. Buff. They also get their center back this week.

Gabriel is a fluke who can disappear just as quickly.

I'd be shocked if JP doesn't have a solid stretch here next couple weeks to break out of his funk.
