I was born in Canton, Georgia, in 1951 - forty years later I was made a member of the Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio.
I earned lots of honors in between, too: I was an All-American twice at Alabama, a first-round pick in the NFL and an All-Pro ten years running, dominating my position like no other player of my time. I helped my team lead the league in rushing twice, thanks to my surprising speed for a man of my size and strength. Amazingly, in spite of a number of serious injuries, I only missed five games during my career.
Do you know who I am?
