Controversy? Yay or Nay? When Warner went down, McCown was able to step in and not be horrible...which is apparently the only qualification he needs to hang on to the job.
Or is it...
Green has a history of teeter-tottering back and forth between quarterbacks. During his 10+ year in Minnesota they went through Rich Gannon, Eric Kramer, Randall Cunningham, Jeff George, Brad Johnson and a couple more I'm forgetting about.
With the loss to Dallas, does McCown get the hook? Neither QB has been lights out, but in that situation you would think you'd try and develop the younger player.
Nov 2 Darren Urban, of the East Valley Tribune, reports Arizona Cardinals QB Josh McCown will return to the bench during Week 9. He struggled in a 20-10 win over the Tennessee Titans and was under heavy pressure during Week 8, losing to the Dallas Cowboys 34-13.
Why? Why aren't they developing McCown at this point? What are the 2-5 Cardinals playing for?
I mean - I have no interest in the decision - I dont own McCown or anything like that - I just cant figure out why they are going to Warner when he clearly isnt in the best interest of this teams future. What am I missing?

I've heard a lot of talk on radio that Dennis Green will probably go after an established QB rather than develop one. That would go along with what he's done in the past. After this year ARI might have a guy other than Warner and McCown to take the reigns.
RIDERS OF THE STORM QB Vick RB Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte, Lesean McCoy WR Brandon Marshall, Kenny Britt TE ? DEF Flavor of the Week K ?

Posted this in another thread, but it's more relevant here:
Well I'll be damned. Mccown was ONLY able to lead the Cards to a 2-2 record, it's a shame considering how well they were doing under Warner.....OH WAIT he's 0-3.
Well still, that drops Mccown's record as the starter to what, 9-11? Well, I guess that does look bad when you look at how well the Cardinals have done with other QBs.....OH WAIT they're 3-16 with other QBs in there.
And people wonder why the Cards never get better. There's idiots running that franchise. I bet even the Devil Rays win a championship before these guys do.

Because McCown sucks... Seriously you guys need to watch the replays or watch some Cardinal's games. McCown is not the future in Arizona and he doesn't even give the team the best chance to win in the present. The question is, why would you continue to start the guy when you have a better player sitting on the bench? Answer: You don't.
