Marvin Lewis ran down the injury report at his news conference this afternoon, but the story of the day is the new list the Bengals coach put in Chad Johnson’s locker.
Johnson had replaced his list of opposing cornerbacks for a special list specific to the opponent Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens.
But at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, Lewis put up a new list, he said.
“Everybody’s out of the list business around here,” Lewis said.
The new list, hanging today in the wide receiver’s locker, read:
“Did 85 do everything he could to lead His Team to Victory 11-6-05?”
Then there are these categories, followed by “yes” and “no” boxes:
-- Did he study extra tape?
-- Zero mental errors in practice?
-- Make a teammate better?
-- See all Sights and Hots? (Sights and hot reads are about a receiver’s ability to recognize a blitzing defense and quickly alter his route to a short one.)
-- Did He Run After the catch?
-- Did He Finish in Blocking?”
Johnson said the new list was placed there by a “higher power, a higher authority.”
Johnson said he also discovered the new list this morning when he arrived at work.
