So, a guy in our league stopped playing. I mean, he doesnt even check. I"m the commish, and have been getting heat b/c some people are getting free walks.
What can I do as a commish?
CAn i set his exisiting team through the end of the season? Do leave it alone?
Lost cause trying to make him set his team. He's out of office, busy, and really doesnt care.
Hate this s***.
Advice?

I'd manage it. Non-participating teams skew leagues horribly, especially in the playoff hunt of the 2nd half.
If people object to this, then I'd dissolve his team and hold a lottery or something to divvy-up his players.

What I do is I set his roster based on who I believe of his players will have the best day. If he has any empty roster spots because of bye weeks, I pick up who I think would be the best free agent, use them for a week, and then drop them at the end of the week, switching back to the team that he has.
dead teams suck. i would try talking it over with the other owners and see how they feel about just setting his lineup's weekly with the players he has on his roster now. no pickups or WW claims. see what they say.myself i would say that is fine.
i don't like the idea of a dead team picking up players especially with the commish making that decision personally(atleast from a weekly point of view. should there be some type of season ending injury then i would be ok with it). it leads to questions from other teams of player blocking. i know most commish's (myself included) would not do that but it opens up a can of worms best left closed.

on one hand, it's not fair to those who didnt get the free pass.
then
for me, it's like who I think is a better match up. and that's subjective.
i think i may just let it sit untouched through the end of the season. lottery would still make some teams get a free pass, which isnt fair, especially since we have a tight race.

When this has happened in my leagues, which it has a few times. They just have a lottery draft for his players. I think that that's easier than trying to manage his team also...but like was stated before, talk with the other owners and see what they think about it.

If he's not playing, I wouldn't change his roster, but I would make sure his starting lineup is always full. Whoever is on his team is then out of bounds to the rest of the league for the remainder of the year. It sucks, but I think it's the most fair way to go about it.
