The Chiefs like
Dee Brown and signed him to a 2 year deal to back up LJ, but his skills are limited. He knows the offense as he was with the team all thru training camp until roster cutdowns, and he apparently has stayed in excellent shape so he can jump in quickly and play 4 or 5 snaps a game to spell LJ. ( he has a smooth stroke on his outside jumper as well )
You may see
T Richardson get more involved in the passing game with Priest out, as LJ is not as versatile of a receiver as Priest coming out of the backfield, but this is not likely to register Richardson for consideration in fantasy leagues. T Rich is an all-pro fullback, but is on the back side of his career as well and his legs are getting heavy.
The Chiefs worked out
Quentin Griffin and told him to stay in shape as they may be calling him back in shortly, but did not sign him this week. Expect them to look at a number of other guys or possibly even to swing a trade to bring in a decent guy as #2 or #3.
Going into week #1, they were only carrying 3 backs on their roster, which was a huge gamble, but they wanted the roster room to carry spots for idiots like
CB Eric Warfield who was serving a suspension for DUI and decided that 3 backs was enough. Since then, they've added a backup FB to the roster, but they probably have had the LEAST DEPTH at RB on their roster all season, and they are now going to pay for it by having to overpay to bring in a turd to sit in the RB2 or RB3 spot.
You might also exect to see more use of running plays involving
WR Dante Hall, who they will look to get the ball to on end-arounds and reverse's as much as possibly a few times a game, since he is such an explosive runner in the open field.
