another critique please

so this is the LJ sig i've made. it's only the second one i've done. it's nothing two flashy but i'd like to know what some of the sig guru's and others thought.




a second one i chaged the scale on i think looks a little better.



any thoughts are appreciated. i'm not sure about the border. i may try to change it to yellow.

i dont think yellow would look to great.. maybe go black because thats the outline of the KC...

personally i like the bigger picture of LJ, just shift him left a little, possibly just till the number is off the side

not bad for a second attempt at all...i see by your text that you are already experimenting with blending options and it looks like you overlayed that KC logo onto your BG...nice work. thats stuff that i didnt play around with for a little while into making sigs, so you are way ahread of where i was at my second sig.

i like the bigger pic of LJ better also, im just not sure about the grey background...i would probly go with team colors...most likely red and white or even white and black might look tight..

anyways keep em comin and show us your progress...i always enjoy seeing guys get better

I agree with Deluxe. It's an awesome second sig, but you need to make either the player blend more with the background or the background blend more with the player (color wise, not actually blending the player into the background or anything.)

Couple ways to do that with the player is by putting the player's layer on luminoscity (which I believe I did with my current sig). Another way to do that, but still keep some of the player's color is to put the player's layer on luminoscity, then duplicate the layer and change the second one's to soft light and mess around with the opacity.

To change the color of the background....you can just use a color balance layer or a hue/saturation "colorize" layer. I don't have photoshop open right now...so I can't really explain what these are...and it's early in the morning and I'm pretty tired.

Text is pretty sweet for a second sig also.

Just mess around with your colors a bit, and soon you'll be really good at sigs.

Agreed. The font makes this sig. I would prefer to see the left Egde move a little more to the right and putting something over the middle, most likely a Colts logo so people focus on the players, not the cone in the middle of it.

thanks for the feedback. here is a newer version with the brightness toned down so the burst wasn't so offensive and the blue matches a little better. also moved the left edge more to the left as i think that looks better.
