Well, ignore any comments like 'he won't start' that have no reasoning, rationale, or inside information attached to them.

Let's re-cap what we know:

Brunell won't be there next year. They used a high draft pick on a high profile QB. He is in there playing in week 2. He actually played well. During the pre-season, they alluded to the fact that Leftwich will probably gets some starts at about mid-season.

My guess is the timetable moves up if anything.

simple or no, he won't start next week. They put him in at the end of the game because it was out of reach. they wanted to "give the kid a drive." He performed much better, and imo, would be a better move for Jax, but they have also said that it is encouraging, but it doesn't change anything..... yet.

Sep 15 Jacksonville Jaguars QB Mark Brunell (back) was called a "little sore'' by Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio after suffering a sore back Sunday, Sept. 14, after the Buffalo Bills game. Del Rio said that's all he's heard on Brunell, so he'll probably be ready to play Sunday, Sept. 21, against the Indianapolis Colts.

Leftwich will become their starting QB at somepoint this yr. I know thats pretty vague, but the point is this is the transition yr, and to look for him to be playing full games by the seasons end. They wanted him to come to camp on time, because they were concidering starting him out of the gate depending on how he did in the preseason. He showed to camp late, and that idea was tossed out the window. I think he is a very interesting pickup if you have the time, patience, and need.
