Question for all you commisioner's

Postby torres26 » Tue Nov 15, 2005 8:54 am

was wondering how these standing would be set right now if our season ended this week. Ties are ties and tie breakers for playoffs are head to head, division w/l,then ytd points.

Team W L T % YTD Div W Div L Div T

1 7 3 0 70.00 419.00 6 1 0
2 6 4 0 60.00 435.00 4 3 0
3 5 5 0 50.00 470.00 3 4 0
4 4 4 2 50.00 446.00 2 3 2
5 4 5 1 44.44 412.00 3 3 1
6 1 8 1 11.11 333.00 1 5 1

thanks for all who answer

I'm confused - wouldn't the standings be just the way you listed them, assuming team 3 wins the tie-breaker against team 4?

That is also the way I see it. The winner of 3 vs 4 is ranked in 3rd place and the other is 4th place :-?

I think wins trump all. 5 wins beats 4 wins no matter how many ties or losses are invloved. Otherwise, I would just assume that as this order is how it appeared on your site (you cut and pasted this, right?) this order is correct.

Not sure how your league determines standings, but in the NFL at least, winning percentage is the deciding factor before tie-breakers kick in.

Well, in our league a tie is worth 0.5 what a win is worth so the two teams in this case would have the same number of points...

Standing would then go whoever won the heads-up match is 3rd, loser is 4th.
