Sneaky playoff strategy

Postby ateam » Tue Nov 15, 2005 1:43 pm

In my $$ league, I'm 9-1 w/ a 3 game lead, so I'm looking ahead...

I've got SA, and the guy who beat me in week one has Edge.

Those are the two teams that seem to be running away with their division (SEA plays 9ers this week).

So this morning I dumped my 2 worst bench guys for:

Rhodes & Morris.

This is a little AFLAC in case the 2 studs are rested during FF superbowl week. :-b ;-D

As an added bonus, my opponent is now fuming! :-D

oh well it pays to pay attention and play smart. Let him fume all he want's. Though I doubt if your startegy will have serious dividends for you. But a bench donkey is a bench donkey nonetheless.

hmm....very sneaky indeed....Rhodes is no longer on the WW, Morris is still on the WW.

What are the odds that Alexander will be benched in week 16? The Seahawks are 3 games ahead of St. Louis in the NFC west and they're the only winning team in the division.

Rhodes could pay off big. He always does a nice job in relief of Edge, and it's especially nice if your opponent plays a starter who only gets a quarter of play. I'm going to grab him because I have Edge, but I'm hoping not to have to use him.

Like I said, it's just insurance, if you can afford the bench spot(s).

I'm loaded in the RB position, but he's screwed if Edge is rested. It would be doubly fun to see Edge rested, and Rhodes scoring worthless points on my bench, as he's scrambling to find something on the WW. That one's more of a block play, for future use.

If the Colts are undefeated, wont you think they will go for the 16-0 mark? Meaning not benching their players, the way I see it is they wont bench their players unless they lose at least one and have home field advantage. Manning is obviously going after Marino's records one after the other.

I'm not buying the undefeated talk. First, I don't think it will happen. Second, Manning isn't the coach, Dungy is. Third, I think winning a Superbowl outranks an undefeated season, so they will rest players if they need rest.

From what I understand Dungy gives alot of decision making authority to Manning.
