For a league with a bunch of friends of mine. The team with the worst record has to wear a dress to the next years draft and get the beers for the guys while drafting.

I have yet to come in last

HAHA. This one is my favorite so far. my league doesn't do anything but I think we should. It'll make for some good laughs.

Yeah, the idea of schleppin' beers for all my friends in a dress would motivate the h**l outta me. (Even better, Champ picks the dress.)

I got involved in a dynasty league that had incentives for being competitive. Depending where you finished, your team had to release a top *something* scoring player on your team. I think the winning top had to release a top 8 player. This was meant to mimic how the best teams will have FA's leaving to sign big contracts, and not being able to keep so many stars on one team.

The second team had to release a top 10 player, and so on, but the bottom 3 or 4 teams it went in reverse, with the last place team having to give up like a top 10 or top 12 player. This way, if you were out of the playoffs it still paid off to do your best, so you wouldn't lose better players, also modeling how good players in the NFL will leave last place teams.

We have several fairly effective measures in place for this:

1) Each and every week, if you lose that week's game, you have to kick predetermined $x amount into the prize pool, all the way through the last week of the regular season. If you win your game, you get .5x back out of the pool. It incents owners to stay engaged.

2) Each week, that week's high scoring team gets a bonus payout. During playoff weeks, even teams that are not in the playoffs are eligible for this bonus.

If you do a serpentine draft, you could make the worst team have the middle pick the next years draft...although that is more likely to make them the worst team next year...

I've won plenty of leagues drafting from the middle position. That kind of thing varies from year to year. Sometimes the 5th or 6th spot is the best possible draft position.
