2006 Mock Draft - UPDATED 11-16

Postby Cornbread Maxwell » Tue Nov 15, 2005 4:00 pm

Hey - its never too early to speculate!

http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sub/mockdraft.html

Like I said before - I seriously seriously doubt GB will have a shot at Bush, but thats exactly how Scott Wright began his mock.

This is an interesting look and its pretty recent (Nov. 11).

Other than the GB pick, I have to admit he does a decent job matching teams with their needs.

D'brickshaw Ferguson to HOU? Thats a no brainer - if HOU has a shot at Ferguson and pass on him, Id probably just feel sorry for the Texan's fans as that would be a clear indication that their management is simply clueless.
Vince Young to BAL? Yup - I can see that.
MIA going with Winston? Makes sence to me.
NYJ landing Maroney? That sounds like a smart move for that team as they need to replace Cmart in the very near future anyway.
Leinart to the Aints? New team in a new local looking for a face for the franchise... that fits too.
Kiwi to DET? Yeah, DET has to go either DE, CB, or Oline here, so best available would be smart.
The Queens going after ANOTHER RB??? I dont know about that call - that seems pretty questionable, but we'll see I guess. Seems like they would be better off going with best available OLineman to me.
If Mecedes Lewis lands in CHI he will make an immediate fantasy impact. Im willing to bet that Bears fans are drooling over the thought of seeing him in black and orange.
PHI goes for a top WR in the 1st? that makes sence too.
If PIT happens to land Jean-Gilles I would be suprised as it will probably be one of the bigger steals in the draft.

What are your comments - thoughts?

I guess that Maroney pick would hinge on how confident the Jets are with Cedric Houston.

2004 - QB Ben Roethlisberger
2005 - TE Heath Miller

Pittsburgh got THE steal of the draft two years in a row, why wouldn't we score the hat trick?

Huh? Some open looks in the redzone don't make you the steal of the draft.

Aaron Rodgers was the SOD by a longshot.

BTW, Scott Wright is an NFL draft God, his opinion is worth 10x the amount Kiper's is.

Before the draft, an injury scared off everyone from Miller. He is almost universally recognized for having incredibly great hands, and he blocks as well as any tight end in the league. He will likely finish in the top 3 in the NFL in touchdowns this year for a TE. Until Rodgers actually does anything, I will respectfully disagree.

I highly doubt KC drafts another linebacker in round 1. Kawika Mitchell has filled in nicely for that "void" in our starting 3 LB's.

What position do you see KC targeting in the 1st next yr?

My guess is DLine or Secondary help - either that or try to get some youth on that OLine as its only a matter of time.

Very very nice Mock draft, I love its throughoness (sp).

I know here in Baltimore we'd welcome Vince Young in a heartbeat. we are is desperate need of a QB, and he should make a good one.

I like the love for my boy Mario Williams at 3rd overall. But if that is where the Titan end up I see them taking Lienart instead. With all the talent he has, and maturity he'll fit right in. Even if McNair doesn't retire after this year he is bound to after the next, so I see them (if they are at #3) taking Lienart.

I dont know about that - they already have probably one of the most coveted backup QBs in the NFL in Volek. I would be shocked if they drafted Leinart.

I've thought all along that they (the Chiefs) needed to think hard about taking an OT in the first round of this year's draft. Need + greatest depth at tackle in the draft in quite some time makes for nice bedfellows. The defensive parts are pretty much in place (the main ones anyhow). They can afford to spend some early picks on the offense this year (line, WR, etc.).
"Don't let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use."
