"I can't be covered"

Postby gatorman1122 » Wed Nov 16, 2005 9:52 pm

I'm pretty sure most of you are sick and tired of the TO threads so here's something refreshing (albeit not that far from TO):

Cincinnati WR Predicts Vs. Colts

In a lighthearted conversation with reporters, Bengals WR Chad Johnson did not go as far as saying who would win this weeks contest vs. the Colts but did make some predictions about his individual performance.
"I won't be covered. I will do everything I can to make sure we win this game. That's my guarantee."

He went on to say that the Colts' cornerbacks should not take offense to his comments.
"It's just impossible," Johnson said, with a straight face. "It's not who I'm playing. It can't be done, and I've come to that conclusion. If I had to stop myself, I probably wouldn't be able to do it, either."

Chad Johnson has made bold predictions in the past which has led to criticism by others around the league. Two years ago he made a bold statement saying the Bengals would win against the then unbeaten Chiefs (9-0). The Bengals did go on to win the game 24-17.

it's in fun, and that keeps it fun. if it were malicious, or done without humor, it would not be fun. chad = jokes. pretty common knowledge, at least here in the nasti.

If I were the Colts D coordinator, I'd call plays that had no men covering Chad. Indirect approach!
They'd never expect it ;-D

CJ is the man - I just wish I had him on my team instead of always playing against him... :-[

I dont know why but it seems the same for everyone else to when CJ says these kind of things I usually like it and laugh and seems like most of you do but like when TO and Moss talk about how great they are im just feel disgusted by how cocky they are.

Jeez CJ took you long enough. With such a big game I expected him to be making comments like this back in the bye week. He always cracks me up.

Smack talk is ALWAYS acceptable when it is funny, and CJ is always funny. Moss and TO are just arrogant. I think that is the difference.

Bingo. And although he has an ego the size of Texas (what wide receiver doesn't) he's somewhat humble too (if that's even possible).
"Don't let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use."
