Warner...Cowboy in 04?

Postby Guttpuppy » Tue Sep 16, 2003 6:12 pm

Bob Glauber , Newsday

"As strange as it looked to see Bill Parcells in silver and blue last night at Giants Stadium, let's go one better: How about Kurt Warner wearing the star on his helmet next season?" Remember, Parcells took a chance on another veteran unwanted by his team. He took Vinny Testaverde off the salary cap scrap heap before the 1998 season. Testaverde enjoyed a career year and led the Jets to the AFC Championship Game.

Now that's a thought - hard to see the star on the helmet of Warner - but it's possible.

I've had the same thought. If Bulger has a strong year, there is no way the Rams can keep Warner at his current salary for a backup. The Cowboys along with a few other teams may want to take a chance that Warner's performance has been a fluke and he'll return to his MVP days.
It's time to roll the dice!

Wouldn't be too much of a jump for Warner. He is used to seeing stars circling his helmet, why not put one on the helmet too?

Honestly probably wouldnt be a bad move for Warner. Parcells is a much better coach than Martz, Parcells will turn Cowboys into a solid team. He's a great motivator.

If Bulger ends up being the man in St Louis and they make the playoffs with him, I dont' see how they can keep both of them. Warner will cost them alot against the cap but not as much if he's playing in a Cowboy uniform.

Why does the name 'Trent Green' come to mind?

The Rams will NEED to distribute one or the other QB this offseason. It needs to get settled or this team will never succeed.
