I'm in my 2nd year of FF. My 1st year I was in 2 leagues where i knew people, and 1 anon. This year I'm in 2 leagues where I know people and 4 anon leagues. As the year goes by, it seeems like the teams move closer to being all alike. With me it's b/c as the season rolls on, your options become more limited, that is, there's a limited # of pick-ups, thus my teams tend to get the same infusion of worthy at the time talent. Does this happen with everyone else, or do y'all go so far as to make diffferent pickups for your differing teams? Thanks, I'll answer yours
it's going to work out like that mainly because there are specific players that you are high on, and target on draft day. but this year i did a bunch of drafts, mainly public drafts on espn, for research (as mock drafts). and I tried to diversify as much as possible, but I did end up with joe horn on just about every team...i thought i was getting him at great value in like round 6 or something and it was good value until he got hurt. for some reason he was slipping to me in every draft, and I couldn't pass him up. I did also end up getting larry johnson on a bunch of teams too, for the same reason. But I have noticed what you are talking about and that's why I made a conscious effort to draft very different looking teams.

Yeah I noticed that the other day im in 6 leagues and I realized how much players I have the same. Steve Smith, Rudi Johnson, Tony Gonzo on just about over 50% of my leagues.
I notice this even more in baseball. When a prospect comes up or a guy has a few great pitching performances, I end up picking him up in all of my leagues at once. By the end of the year, at least half of all my teams are the same.
Yeah, it's really evident through WW pickups and trades (there are more because the season is longer) in baseball...
In football, I can see where I draft a couple of players in quite a few of them. I guess it's because I like their value where they're at. I try to diversify, but it's not always possible. For example, I have McGahee on three teams (of four).

And upon further review, just as sappy, too."

The only player I have on both squads is Willie. Drafted him in the 16 teamer and picked him up after week 1 off the WW in the other. I didn't necessarily try to do this but it seems to work out nicely. No matter what you have to do a value based draft, so I'd imagine if guys fell to me right I'd take em. I also think that if I got first pick in both drafts I would have taken Tomlinson in one and Alexander in the other though.
If I'm high on a player during a draft generally I'll be high on him for all my drafts. Thats assuming I'm rating him higher then other people. If he's usually available when I want him, then he's mine.
If I notice a sleeper during the season, once I decide that I want him, I may try to get him for all my teams.
So while there's always differences, there is a lot of carry over between teams. This is another reason IMO not to have too many teams. Whats the point if they all look alike?
