This weekend he claims it was unlucky that Mike Anderson had 25 points on his bench?! Though he's the bufoon who put him there. He's changed his team name to "Cursed One", while it should read "Bad GM". Case in point, w/ last yrs. worst record, he "earned" #1 pick this yr. and chose Peyton. 3 Wks. ago he dealt Peyton at his low point.

Sure that's 100% luck, eh.
LOL!!
That guy really wouldnt meet the "knowledge ceiling", would he? Therefore, your league probably isnt as competitive as you think, which would probably account for your success yr after yr.

I think this is a duplicate thread... Anyway I think the consensus is that if you are losing you attribute it to bad luck whereas if your team is a winner you have a tendency to atrribute it to some of your skillful manuvers.
There is a big luck element to Fantasy, but you can't say it's all luck. Someone likened Fantasy Football to Poker last time. I think that's the most accurate assessment I've heard. There is luck involved, but the good players have the intangibles to rise to the top.
RIDERS OF THE STORM QB Vick RB Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte, Lesean McCoy WR Brandon Marshall, Kenny Britt TE ? DEF Flavor of the Week K ?

Play in more competitive leagues.
Is that an invitation?
You know - I have found that the most competitive leagues around can be found right here at the Cafe. Try the classified section or go and look through some of the cafe leagues and find one that you would really like to join and then PM the commish and ask him to put you on the waiting list to join. There is almost always 1-2 owners that drop out of even the most competitive of leagues every yr, and they need to be replaced. Stay active at the cafe - you will get invitations to join the kind of leagues that will test your mettle.
Please dont get me wrong about saying to play in more competitive leagues - consider it a complement more than anything else. If anyone regularly finishes in the money, consider that you are a very good fantasy player, but you also may not be playing against a league full of very good fantasy players.

Of course, no offense was taken, I took it as you said.
Am I to assume then that their is no room in any of your league's for a schmuck like myself?
Hmm ... does this mean that the real test of skill is choosing the right opponents to play against?
A couple things: Firstly, I rather like the fact that there's a certain amount of luck in the game. After all, that's the case in the NFL as well, and if it brings fantasy closer to reality, that's probably not a bad thing. I do think the amount of luck is considerably lower than many of the figures mentioned in this thread, however. The financial markets analogy isn't bad: skill won't guarantee you a win on any given day, but the chances of your being ahead in the long run are very high.
Also, don't think the "knowledge ceiling" is all that low. Just as an example, the statistical analysis surface has only been scratched...

I'll be 1-10, 7-4, 8-3, 4-7, and 5-6 in my 5 leagues this yr. Am I more skilled in the leagues I am doing better in or am I less lucky in the ones I am doing poorly in?
