Hawaii trounces Mich St.

Postby dave416 » Sun Nov 20, 2005 9:16 am

Hawaii beat up #4 Michigan St. yesterday in Oahu, 84-62. Apparently Mich St. players were cramping up all through the second half. Shannon Brown even had to be carried off in a stretcher as the crowd booed for them to continue the game.

Other crazy scores from yesterday:

Cal-Irvine defeats #13 Stanford, 79-63

North Carolina hit a three with 10 ticks left to beat Gardner-Webb, 83-80

Cincy defeats Murray St. in OT, 79-75 ;-D

The beginning of the CBB season is missed by many due to CFB and the fact that people don't pay attention until conference play. But I think non-conf. is a blast with everybody playing relative unknowns.

Reminds me of last year when UNC lost in it's tuneup game for Maui, then went and won the tournament. I don't see that happening this year with MSU,, MAui field is to deep and there not as talented as last years UNC team.

I remeber that as well....it was Santa Clara I believe.

Actually funny thing happened before the Hawaii/MSU game. While I don't bet college bball, I look at the lines along with the matchups each day. Mich St. was apparently favored by 10, but it fell to -6 before gametime with nearly 80% of the bettors on Mich St. Strange...

This is why they shouldn't have pre-season rankings.

Yeah, seems preseason ones for MSU have been crazy in hoops the past couple years. I think last year or the year before they were ranked #3 and were unranked 2 weeks later.

They have a ton of talent on that team, but just got spanked yesterday. I don't know what's up with the cramping though.

Oh well, no need to panic for any team losing before Turkey Day. But yeah, it's still Hawaii.

Not a great day to be a Spartan yesterday. :~(

Adam Morrison might be incredibly ugly and oafy looking but that boy can play some ball! Great Gonzaga vs. Michigan St. game last night.

For real. He doesn't have the athletic ability at all, but he can flat out score. The kid knows how to play some ball, he is such a smart player. I've heard comparisons to Bird (even though that ain't right) and that is a high compliment.

That was one great game last night.

MSU had some key turnovers at the end. Neitzel stepping out...Davis' charge...Brown fumbling the last shot...

Morrison and Ager played amazing games. Seemed every drawn up play worked too. Execution was great.

It will be interesting to see if they have any left in the tank today...Both teams that is.

I was worried after hearing we lost to Hawaii by 22...But if we were able to hang in with Gonzaga and send them to triple OT, I think both teams are pretty damn good.

Yep, the Spartans will be fine. That was an amazing game, especially for a game so early in the year. ;-D

Today was a little bit better.

Good comeback by Zona, MSU fell apart at the end...but held on in OT..

Hopefully things will soften up a bit before the conference opener against Illinois.
