Has Dallas (Clark) finally arrived?

Postby Warpigs » Mon Nov 21, 2005 6:47 pm

I know that he is just one of a ton of weapons in Indy and that the tight end is such a fickle position already, but after so many weeks of disappointment, Clark went apesh*t this week for 125 yards and a TD on eight catches. I'm sure part of this was the fact that Manning was chucking the ball all over the place, but Clark now has two TDs in the last two games. Any thought to what he'll be doing the rest of the way? As someone who also owns Jason Witten, I'd love to hear some opinions on Clark...

If the Colts D is going to start giving it up, then Clark's value will increase. He will still be a hit or miss target becuase Starvin Marvin has to get his, and so on and so on. But if the Colts have to start outscoring teams then all receivers values should rise.

Yeah...like mooch said, all Indy WR's and TE's value will go up if they get into a shootout. With the way their schedule looks, they might not have to...maybe against SD. I don't think PIT or SEA will put up much of a fight.

No way has Dallas Clark arrived. We are 11 games into the season. Now Peyton decides to get him the ball.

3 years into his career. Has never caught more than 29 balls. After last night he has 31 receptions.

I hope he makes it great. But hasn't lived up to any hype or that matter hopes.

Only his second game with 10+ points and every other game was below 7.

Erron Kinney arrived b4 Dallas Clark.

Thing about TE is that it's not always about their skills, it's about the QB, the O coord and the gameplan. So to say a guy has arrived and another guy hasn't doesn't seem all that useful.

Clark and anybody else can't catch what isn't thrown to them. Face it, on 15-20 NFL teams, the TE is often no more than an extra blocker who catches 2 passes a game.

As for Clark, the fact that there are plays designed for him to catch the ball 20+ yards downfield when they have Wayne, Harrison and Stokley to go to ahead of him says something about his ability IMO. Is he ever gonna be as effective as Gonzo having to be played as a 3rd WR by some teams? probably not. But definitley a top 10 TE (at least) in the near future.

Chris Baker had a good game too not long ago. There are simply too many mouths to feed on that team.
