Tagliabue doesn't make sure that Peyton Manning is suited-up before each game. You are over-extending the role of commissioner and it will only lead to trouble. If you wanted to check line-ups and give owners a "heads-up", that is a courtesy any team owner can provide. Gojng beyond that can really get into some messy slippery-slope situations.
