Yeah, I think he's still underrated. Everyone still thinks he's a fluke. This guy can play.

culboarder wrote:all of boldins receptions were on very short routes at the SEA game. You didnt see him go deep on many plays...now if 8 receptions for 70-80 yards is okay for you then he is okay but dont you think boldin will be facing double coverage all year long just like seattle did? Seattle doesnt even have a very good secondary, with springs out they now have the rookies trufant and hamlin starting with lucas and tounge. not too good.

Uhhhh......I'm a little lost here. How exactly is Seattle's secondary not that good? Just because Trufant and Hamlin are rookies doesn't mean they're not capable defenders. Hamlin was voted the NFC Defensive Player of the Week last week with 8 tackles, a pick, a forced fumble and a deflection that Tongue picked off. Speaking of Tongue, he's tied with the NFL lead in INT's with 3. Also, the secondary as a whole has only given up 2 passing TDs in 3 weeks. If you look at what Boldin has done against other D's, you should see Seattle's is pretty much the cream of the crop. When Springs does get back, look out. Just to keep in line with the post, anyone who is still sitting Boldin should have their heads examined. 99 yard performance today, nice. If that was worse than any all your receivers did, I'm glad I'm not in your league.

yeah i missed this part.

as it stands, our secondary is better than 80% of the teams in the league.

When springs comes back..

good discussion here fellas.

Boldin had another strong week and came about 6" away from a TD (that could have been called either way). For the record I play in a DEEP league where owners know what they are doing. We start 3 WRs and that makes Boldin a start on most rosters, especially heading into the bye weeks. He'll be in my lineup this week and I don't see it as a shakey start either. Those that wouldn't consider Boldin for a start during bye weeks can ignore this entire thread because they are either in a league of idiots, and incredibly shallow league or are an idiot themselves.

In the non-tangible arena I would also like to add that I've watched the majority of his games. Boldin has special talent. He's explosive, uses his big frame extremely well and even breaks tackles. On his near TD 2 Packers just bounced off Boldin's legs. It was very impressive as that route should not have gone for many yards. I tend to go on my personal impressions moreso than relying on "experts" and I will say that Boldin looks like a slow TO to me. He shows the same flash and power just without the breakaway speed. Lastly, he's seen the double teams for 2 weeks now so we can effectively throw that inane concern out the window. Good receivers still get the ball, in every offense on every team. If it was that easy to shut down a #1 receiver then why don't teams do it??? Answer: It's harder than the average fan realizes.

Who is to say that it won't be Boldin? I'm sick of people knocking him and the people that pick him up off of waivers... like they have any friggin idea as to what kind of season he's going to have. In my opinion, he's earned a shot. Besides, what in the hell do you have to loose that makes everybody so dead bent against him?

I agree... Boldin was a killer college WR, but the thing that scares me about starting him is the fact that he's a Cardinal....

One side note on Anquan Boldin: He was also FSU's back-up quarterback for a while... Don't be shocked if he has at least 1 TD pass on a trick play this year.... You heard it here first....
