Commish needs help!(that's me)

Postby indyindian » Mon Dec 12, 2005 1:50 am

It's my second year as commish. The 4th and 5th teams played today. From out of nowhere, the 4th seeded team posts an email stating that the 5th team had changed rosters midway thru the game, which is impossible in yahoo! leagues. Furthermore, he questions whether I have the power to change rosters throughout a game.
I stated that, as a commish, the only instance in which I'll set someone else's roster is if that person contacts me with request to change roster(e.g., he's out of town or has no email access) and prior to gametime.
I checked the rosters as of tonite and they appear correct as of the time I checked yesterday nite. In fact, I did quick math and even if the alleged change had been made, the 5th seed would have won either way(difference of 4 points between Engram and Chambers as WR)
Is there more validity I should look into, or is it just a computer glitch(yahoo is prone to that), or someone venting in the heat of the moment?

Any advice or insight would help!

Sounds like an angry rant to me. Yahoo wouldn't allow it, or would change it back tomorrow.

Sounds to me like someone is venting in the heat of the moment. If it didn't make a difference between winning & losing, why does it even matter? If you are the only one who can possibly change a roster then it wasn't possible for team 5 to change their roster during the game. Besides, even if you could change the roster, isn't it impossible for anyone to change the rosters after the games have started?

Does the guy use stattracker? If so, any line-up changes by his opponent won't show on stattracker until he closes it and reopens it again.

Yahoo tracks any changes and they all show up, even the commishes. The commish can't do anything about what is listed there.
From your leagues homepage, click "view all" by the transactions listings. There's links to all the transactions since the league was started.
I appologize if you already knew this, alot of folks don't and it solves problems like this quickly.

Cheers
