49ers | A. Smith might have hand size issue
Mon, 12 Dec 2005 19:47:27 -0800

Dennis Georgatos, of the San Jose Mercury News, reports San Francisco 49ers QB Alex D. Smith might have a problem with the size of his hands. His hand size has been cited as a possible factor in his ball-handling problems. Smith and head coach Mike Nolan are disputing the reports, saying Smith's hand size is not a problem.

You think they would've found this out before making him the #1 overall pick and throwing tens of millions at him...

Oh that's so funny . . . I guess size does matter. :-)

I mean you have to propperly sized hands in order to handle the center's balls.

Smith and head coach Mike Nolan are disputing the reports, saying Smith's hand size is not a problem.

No, no, no, they're not to small, they're not to small. Mommie said I was perfect. ;-D :-b

I also suffer from the carnie-hand-itis. It makes throwing a football fairly difficult, much less snapping one (i used to play center).

and no, its not proportional! la la al a la la la la la not listening!

If Smith actually suffers from this, it won't be pretty.

I'm not buying that.

It's not like he was playing with a different sized ball in college....
