Strategy Question

Postby mikebal9 » Wed Dec 14, 2005 11:47 am

Does any have an opinion on this?

I think it might be a good idae to start Matt Jones this week because my opponent is using David Garrard and anything he throws to Jones will neutralize the points he gains. Is this a good idea? Do you think neutralizing points like this usually pays off?

Even if it is a good idea, is it smart to put in Jones over Drew Bennett?

Play the guy that will get you the most points. Here is another thread, with a similar situation and response

be careful where you ask these questions man... breathe wrong and the forum veterans will pounce on you.

by the way there was a huge discussion on this and most people disagreed with the handcuffing theory. Play your team on the matchups and don't be too concerned about who your opponent is playing.

here's the best thread for you to take a look at: http://www.fantasyfootballcafe.com/foru ... p?t=214009

the short answer, though, is if you think that you're projected to be ahead in the matchup or behind. if you have 2 players who are about even (bennett and jones have both been hit or miss), if you think you're going to be behind, then don't "handcuff" ... if you think you're going to be ahead, then do.

Play Jimmy Smith, Wilford, and Matt Jones!

Instant Awesomeness! You'll be sure to lock up Garrard's 1 passing TD!

Don't be ridiculous. Anyone knows you also have to start George Wrighster at TE to make this a worthwhile strategy.

This is true. You need Jimmy Smith, Wilford, Matt Jones, and Wrighster.

But what about Reggie Williams? I'd squeeze him in somewhere too.

You really can't let Garrard's 1 passing TD go to waste.

If you are going with Williams then you have to go 2 TE and throw Kyle Brady in there....it only makes sense.
