USC Cheating?

Postby VaderFin » Sat Dec 31, 2005 9:58 pm

Not a huge issue but it is "cheating" and I'm sure nothing will happen from it. USC is god right about now. If Miami was having Ed Reed or Santana Moss giving speeches to recruits we would be crucified in the media and would get slapped by the NCAA. Betting nothing happens to USCPN.

And if you are asking....yes, it is a violation to have any ex player talk to potential recruits about coming to his school.

Well, i don't see this as of big of deal due to the fact that none of the players getting recruited know this guy. Now, if someone like Marcus Allen was doing something like this, I would def. see alot wrong with it. I just think that they are going to go to the school or they arn't. Some old guy telling them what to do isn't going to persuade them one way or the other, IMO.

Isnt this what recruiting is?

If any of these "rah, rah" speeches swayed (even if only a little) a player to choose SC over another school, to me, this would be a huge violation. But as Vader said, nothing will/would be done about it.

Also, now they are saying that USC may have paid for LenDale White to travel to the Heisman presentation with Bush and Leinart. That would be a violation as well.......

Ah, so in your mind breaking the rules is ok if the guy isn't a Heisman winner, yeah that makes sense.

Not under the current regime they have not. We are talking about the here and now not what may have happened 20 years ago. The main point is they have commited 2 violations and more then likely nothing will happen cause they are the current poster child for greatest team of all time. :-t
