I thought he would come back for at least one more year. :-/

Anyway I kind of hope if someone like Edwards doesent become available that they promot Al Saunders to head coach, he's been in our organization for years and is an excellent offensive coordinator.

I think were going to see the rebuilidng proccess really soon in KC.

I wonder if there's going to be a number of the older players to retire as well. It could seriously diminish LJ's value next year.

You think a coordinator will get the chance...Norm Chow? Heimerdinger?
They wouldn't bring Gunther Cunningham back...would they?
Of college coaches/pro assistants, who do you think is the favorite?

Hmm, I wonder if Mooch would be a candidate.

being in kansas city and listening to sportstalk radio all last week, i'd say that the leading canididates are edwards, stoops, and gregg williams. i'd personally like to see edwards. there's lots of smoke about saunders going to detroit to take their HC job. he'll get an interivew in kc, but i don't think (and hope) he doesn't get it. nothing against saunders, but i just think he might be one of those guys that's just suited to be a coordinater (gunther, martz).

either way, dick provided the chiefs with some good times and bad times, but more good than bad. sad to see him leave the nfl, he was a class act through and throguh. too bad detroit couldn't pull off the miracle today for a rematch next week in cinci, although i'd hate to face them next week with marvin lewis wanting to murder somebody on the bengals sideline today.

LJ - stock down
Tony G/Trent Green/Eddie Kennison - stock up

I'm not so sure about that. A coach would have to be a complete idiot to not reciprocate the offense in the last 8 games of the season and that is to pound the ball with Lj. That would be like trying to make a cube roll down a hill instead of using their ball.

Kansas City'a fantasy running back domination couldn't last forever. I'd love to see what Vermeil could do in Detroit though.

It's really sad to see him go. He's one of the classiest guys in the NFL and replacing him will be no easy task for Kansas City. NFL Network did a nice spot on him yesterday and it's so awesome to see a man so dedicated to his sport and his community.
