There are a ton of reasons why he would retire.

*The team is obviously in rebuilding mode and isn't going to be winning the Superbowl any time soon.
*They have just fired the coach that many have said his future is tied to.
*His game has fallen off, I love the guy but any Packer fan who doesn't believe this to be true is lying to you.

If he wanted to win, why would he leave the Packers where he has played his entire career (he has said he won't play anywhere else) to go to one of the few teams that is worse than the Packers?

I would hope that Favre does like Marino did and think about playing for another team but in the end retires being one of the few to play their whole career at one place.

I know it wouldn't happen, but can you imagine Favre coming and playing for the Bears? That'd be such an awesome image, but he'd probably throw games just to see the Bears lose and Pack win. He may not even have to throw games, anymore (sadly), with all those picks and questionable decisions with the football.
