Hard Drive Recommendations?

Ive had dozens of western digital drives over the years and no problems at all. However I havent had one of their external drives.

I have used a Maxtor Personal Storage 3100 for quick formats & reinstalls and to transfer huge files, never had a problem.

Agreed with moon on this one. Stay away from Maxtor. I had an internal die a few months back with no warning....less than a year old. Western Digital makes a good drive. I replaced the Maxtor with a 120 GB WD drive with no problems. The drive has good trouble shooting and backup software as well. I would assume the externals would be similar to the internals.
