Desmond Howard because the first Special Teams Superbowl MVP in Superbowl XXXI when he returned a kickoff 99 yards for a score and tied the record of return yards in the game with 244.

Red, I think this question is a bit too general for the blitz. You can't just say, what two stats lead up to his winning the trophy, when there are several stats that jump out at any given person who knows what Desmond Howard did in that game...

Ok, how about I if I had rephrased the question?

What 2 feats did Desmond Howard accomplish in Superbowl XXXI that lead to him winning the MVP, a first for a special teams player?

I guess if I had phrase it that way it would have made more sense? I don't know. Stats was just the first word that jumped out at me.

What you should say is, "What two records did Desmond Howard tie or break en route to his Super Bowl MVP performance?" That makes it specific and leaves no room for arguement. The way you phrased it makes it far too open for people to argue what the answer could be even if that's not the answer you're looking for. Go ahead a re-ask the question, I'm locking this one down.
